This position will be the transportation subject matter expert on the SAP team that will convert existing TMS systems to SAP's TMS (Project length of 2 years). Will support blue printing of business requirements, work with IT on UAT process, training users & ongoing support.

  • Function as a super user for Clients TMS and provide trouble shooting as required.
  • Use data mining techniques such as SQL & query builders (working in tandem with the Strategic Analysis department) to extract Transportation data and report on this data in a way that is useful for Transportation and Supply Chain leadership decision making.
  • Drive the analysis and modeling of data in order to identify gaps between current business operations and the TMS capabilities.
  • Analyze carrier rates for various modes;
    Truckload, Less than truckload, parcel, etc. using batch rating tools.
  • Document methodology, business scenarios and test cases from modeling and gap identification.
  • Provide the business knowledge to support effective utilization, modeling and implementation of optimization strategies.
  • Act as liaison between project teams, operational, and internal/external IT groups.
  • Validate Strategic Analysis' database structures to insure the data ties out to the General Ledger and the P&L.
  • Develop TMS related metrics and reporting (KPI's, financial reports, dashboards, etc.).
  • Liaison with Client EDI coordinator to insure transactions are flowing properly to and from carriers and other logistics trading partners

Position Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in transportation with advance knowledge of transportation management systems (SAP TMS a plus)
  • Successful experience leading cross-functional teams and driving change
  • 2+ years of experience with process improvement methodologies (Lean Six Sigma).
  • Proficiency in Excel and Access required.
  • Superior analytical skills to evaluate new business requirements and think through complex, multidimensional problems and discover appropriate solutions.
  • Exposure to Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence and Sequel Server concepts preferred.
  • Effective team player to jointly seek innovative solutions and identify, design, and configure the system to meet the company's business requirements in cost effective manner.
  • High attention to detail and strong sense of urgency while working on projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and proven ability to present effectively to senior leadership.
