Job Overview
Chowbus, Inc. in Chicago, IL seeks a Product Specialist.
Responsibilities include consulting with the leadership team and product/engineering teams to drive new features and improve existing POS systems; applying theoretical expertise and innovation to create or apply new technology to product design; training local operations teams to ensure they have up‑to‑date systems knowledge and follow best practices when servicing POS systems; collecting product feedback from local teams to improve testing and installation processes;
assigning or scheduling tasks to meet work priorities and goals; meeting with managers, vendors, clients, and engineers to solicit cooperation and resolve problems; designing software for POS App products; analyzing key metrics such as defect rates and time to close issues to identify ways to improve operational efficiency and reduce system‑related errors and problems; conducting logical analyses of business, product, engineering, and other technical problems;
evaluating project plans and proposals to assess feasibility; consulting with users, management, vendors, and technicians to determine computing needs and system requirements; managing stakeholders from product, design, engineering, product marketing, sales, and operations; providing proactive progress updates and risk surfacing and aligning outcomes with broader business goals; and collaborating with junior product managers. This is an individual‑contributor role with no managerial duties.
100% telecommuting from home is allowed from anywhere in the United States.
Salary: $108,077.
Qualifications- Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in the role offered or a related position.
- Proficiency in translating business goals into clear product goals and requirements, developing and articulating an organized product roadmap, presenting product reports to peers, stakeholders, and senior management, deriving insights from product metrics and making data‑driven decisions for product development using tools such as MS Excel Pivot tables, Mixpanel, or Tableau.
- Experience with agile project management tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Experience with prototype design tools such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe XD.
- Experience in the Point of Sale industry.
