Sr. SQL Data Specialist

We’re seeking a Senior Data Governance Analyst to support a high‑visibility data initiative focused on improving data clarity, consistency, and integrity across multiple systems. This role will play a key part in establishing foundational documentation and supporting cross‑functional alignment as the organization evolves its data strategy.

This is a hands‑on, SQL‑heavy role focused on governance, stewardship, and data integrity—not BI reporting or dashboarding.

• Establish enterprise‑wide data standards, definitions, and documentation
• Improve data quality, consistency, and trust across systems
• Create foundational governance artifacts to support future integration and engineering efforts
• Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams

• Perform advanced SQL analysis across multiple systems and datasets
• Create and maintain a Data Dictionary to document core data elements and definitions
• Improve data integrity, consistency, and accuracy through structured analysis and recommendations
• Build and optimize tables, views, joins, and relationships within SQL Server
• Partner with internal database and technical teams to support ongoing development efforts
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and standardize definitions
• Work independently and help define future data and engineering needs

• 8+ years of experience in a Data Analyst / SQL Analyst capacity
• Advanced SQL skills (SQL Server strongly preferred)
• Proven experience creating or maintaining Data Dictionaries
• Strong knowledge of relational data models and data integrity best practices
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment
• Comfortable working with both business and technical teams

• Consulting or project‑based background
• Exposure to backend systems, integrations, or APIs (conceptual understanding)
