IT Project Manager
Direct hire role in Chicago, IL 60606.
Base pay: $110k/annum - $130k/annum + benefits.
Hybrid schedule – 3 days in office, 2 days remote (Mon/Fri remote).
Job SummaryThe ideal candidate will have experience leading complex, cross‑functional IT projects that impact technology systems and business operations. This individual is responsible for managing project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, and risks to ensure successful delivery. They collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors to achieve efficient, high‑quality outcomes aligned with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, manage, and deliver multiple concurrent technology and business projects from initiation to completion.
- Establish and apply standardized project management methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, status reports, and risk documentation.
- Coordinate resources across IT, business teams, and external vendors.
- Identify, mitigate, and resolve project risks and issues.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders and provide regular status updates.
- Facilitate collaboration between business and IT teams to define requirements and achieve project goals.
- Prepare and present executive‑level project updates and recommendations.
- Ensure smooth transition of completed projects to operational teams, including post‑implementation support and training.
- Conduct post‑project reviews to assess outcomes and identify improvements.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects on time and within budget.
- Experience working with cross‑functional teams and senior leadership.
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, ) and collaboration platforms (Teams, SharePoint).
- Understanding of change management principles.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of IT project or program management experience.
- Experience building or working within a PMO structure.
- Project management certification (PMP, PMI‑ACP, PRINCE2) preferred.
- Experience in a professional services environment is a plus.
