Responsibilities- Provide Data Center Administration and Hardware Support for Unsecured On‑premises and Cloud Environments.
- Ensure backup of data, daily operational support for various networks, perform standard Data Center monitoring activities, plan, install and support hardware.
- Respond to customer tickets to resolve technical issues associated with network and routing protocols at all levels of the OSI Model.
- Install and replace network appliances such as firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Provide transition support for hardware and advise on practical technical approaches to meet customer requirements.
- Rack systems, install appropriate power sequence, and organize cabling according to written standard.
- Carry out installations of systems racks using equipment lift aids for heavy hardware.
- Communicate complex technical information to various audiences within the customer base with professionalism.
- Contribute to the development and documentation of processes and aid implementation.
- Perform level one maintenance on fiber Cat 6 cables.
- Assist with organization and tracking of data center equipment inventory.
- Periodically participate in hardware migrations for various customers.
- All candidates must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be able to pass federal background investigation and obtain a Public Trust.
- Associate’s degree in network engineering or a relevant field preferred (education can combine with experience).
- 6 months – 3 years of relevant Network Administration/Data Center experience.
- Experience troubleshooting LAN, WAN, MPLS, and network/service availability.
- Ability to observe data center environment and recommend improvements.
- Demonstrated experience with TCP/IP protocol suite, IP subnets, maskings, and routing protocols.
- Strong communication skills to explain protocols and procedures to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Experience with networking, storage, server, and systems operations.
- Background demonstrating ability to operate effectively within a complex dynamic environment.
- Experience analyzing and interpreting monitoring logs, rules, and outputs to create actionable remediating tasks.
- Familiarity with network security, firewalls and ACLs; multivendor Firewall and Network Security appliances such as Cisco, Palo Alto, IXIA, Juniper, and Net Scaler.
- Familiarity supporting global network systems and subsystems.
- Teamwork orientation.
- Physical requirements:
Lift up to 50 lbs., move equipment, stand for long periods, climb stairs and ladders, work in confined areas.
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee‑owners. The salary range for this position is USD $28.00‑$41.53 per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
