OverviewA leading proprietary trading firm in Chicago is seeking a Network Engineer to design, optimize, and maintain their mission‑critical low latency networks.
Location:
Chicago, IL. Hybrid model: 3 days in office per week.
Seniority level:
Mid‑Senior level.
Employment type:
Full‑time.
- Develop and optimize low‑latency network solutions for trading systems.
- Manage and enhance multicast networks for efficient market data distribution.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network performance to ensure reliability and speed.
- Collaborate with traders and developers to align network systems with trading needs.
- Automate network tasks and configurations using Python scripting.
- Plan for network scalability and ensure security compliance.
- Expertise in low‑latency networking, multicast (e.g., PIM, IGMP), and TCP/IP protocols.
- Strong experience with network hardware (Arista, Cisco, Juniper) and tools like Wireshark.
- Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of Linux networking, market data protocols, or FPGA‑based systems.
