Agile Scrum Master Consultant

Role: Agile Scrum Master
Location: Hybrid – must be local to Chicago; expected in office twice a week
Contract: Opportunity for extensions
Compensation: $60–$70/hr with benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and support multiple Agile Scrum Teams on complex initiatives.
• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies and ensure adherence to Scrum values.
• Identify and resolve delivery impediments; escape when necessary.
• Manage risks and issues, foster continuous improvement, and drive team maturity.
• Serve as an Agile subject matter expert and mentor.
• Support Product Owner in backlog management and prioritization.
• Build strong team environments and manage conflict resolution.
• Promote transparency around delivery progress, quality, and schedule.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

• Prior experience as a Scrum Master using Agile Scrum methodology.
• Strong servant‑leader mindset with coaching and mentoring skills.
• Experience delivering modern enterprise software using Agile.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Jira and Jira Align:
  • Connect strategy to execution.
  • Manage program‑level backlogs.
  • Visualize dependencies across Agile Release Trains (ARTs).
  • Configure dashboards, OKRs, and lean metrics.
• AI & Tooling Awareness:
  • Familiarity with AI‑enhanced platforms (Jira Automation, Rovo, Git Hub Copilot, Lucid AI, Microsoft Copilot).
  • Ability to interpret AI‑generated insights and coach teams on AI‑driven practices.

Education & Experience

• Scrum Master Certification (CSM) preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 4 years of related work experience in enterprise IT with Agile delivery.
• Previous project management experience preferred.
