** Overview Comp Tech is seeking a qualified, public trust cleared, Database Administrator to support the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in an onsite capacity. This role is responsible for reviewing, evaluating, designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems that support EPA programs and records management requirements. The Database Administrator will identify and document data sources; develop data decomposition and data flow diagrams;
and ensure database structures, metadata, and processes align with EPA data governance policies, records lifecycle management standards, and Federal information management requirements. The position supports the integrity, accessibility, and proper retention of data in accordance with applicable EPA policies, Federal records management regulations, and information governance best practices. Work Scope
Key responsibilities include:
* Serve in an onsite Database Administrator role, responsible for reviewing, evaluating, designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems in support of EPA programs and operations.
* Identify, analyze, and document data sources, and develop data decomposition diagrams and data flow diagrams to support database design, integration, and process transparency.
* Develop, write, and maintain database code to support data access, modification, and construction, including stored procedures, queries, and scripts.
* Establish and maintain database standards, procedures, and conventions to ensure consistent, efficient, and compliant database usage.
* Collaborate with technical and programming staff to ensure database security, access controls, and adherence to applicable EPA and Federal information security policies.
* Apply a broad knowledge of database concepts, practices, and procedures, using professional judgment and experience to plan, prioritize, and accomplish assigned objectives.
* Perform complex database administration tasks, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and structural enhancements.
* Develop and support data warehousing strategies, including data acquisition, integration, archival, and recovery processes.
* Conduct database maintenance and data cleansing activities, including identifying, archiving, and removing obsolete or redundant data in accordance with records retention and lifecycle management requirements.
* Evaluate new or proposed data sources to ensure data quality, governance compliance, and ease of integration with existing systems and standards. Experience, Certification and Clearance Requirements:
Experience:
Qualified candidates will have:
* Bachelor's Degree
* 4 years of Database Administrator Experience
* MS SQL Experience
Experience with Database in the Cloud Desired
Certifications:
* Microsoft Certified:
Azure Database Administrator Associate
* Microsoft Certified: MS SQL Administrator
* CompTIA Security+
* CompTIA Data Sys+ Security Clearance Requirements:
* Public Trust Salary: * $105k - $115k, Benefits + 401k + matching Equal Employment Opportunity
