SAP Business Analyst – TM & SD West Chicago, IL – Onsite Position Summary
As a member of the IT team this role is responsible for design, configuration, and maintenance of our team's business systems built with SAP's sales, production, transportation, supply chain and FICO related modules plus third‑party tools. The Business Analyst will create and maintain close with Business Management and IT Management teams, including collaboration with Business Analysts, Business Support Analysts, and Business Users.
The Business Analyst must ensure business procedures are performed efficiently and proactively identify innovative opportunities to apply new technical process solutions to meet business needs all while improving customer, employee and supplier experience, driving sales, reducing cost to serve, and driving profitability.
- Propose innovative IT solutions to address business needs by understanding business processes and requirements and applying the best of class software, hardware and/or services (15%)
- Develop IT solutions by writing functional specifications and coordinating the development with IT staff (programmers, configurators, network, infrastructure, management, etc.) (15%)
- Enhance current SAP processes by configuring SAP S/4 SD and TM to meet business requirements (10%)
- Assure successful implementation and adoption of IT solutions by the business by coordinating testing, documentation, training, change management and communication with the business (15%)
- Timely support of daily business issues by communicating with the business, providing assessments, proposing and prioritizing solutions (45%)
- Percentage of time spent dependent on candidate experience and business needs
- 5+ years of experience in SAP design, implementation and support of business systems including
- SAP configuration of Sales & Distribution
- SAP configuration of Basic Transportation Management including freight units, freight orders, and freight settlement
- Full lifecycle SAP implementation experience
- Experience on S/4
HANA
- SAP SD Configuration expertise in sales order management, delivery, billing, customer master and integration with MM and FI
- SAP TM Configuration expertise in freight units, freight orders, and freight settlement
- Integration experience with MM and FI
- SAP MM/PP Configuration expertise
- Experience with SAP EDI, PI (Process Integration), WM (Warehouse Management), and/or APO (Forecasting and Planning)
- Experience with SAP development tools (SAP For Me , SAP Notes search)
- Experience w/ testing automation tools
- Power BI Experience
- Experience with Bar Coding, wireless technologies and/or IoT devices
- Background in the perishable goods brokerage industry, with experience in sales, import/export, and logistics, utilizing drop‑shipping models and collaborating with third‑party IT resources
