Talent Manager, HR Manager, Employee Relations, Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Our client in Chicago, Illinois is hiring a full-time, direct hire HR Manager to lead employee relations, HR operations, and compliance initiatives. This onsite HR Manager role is ideal for a strategic, hands-on HR professional with strong manufacturing experience and expertise in HR systems

HR Manager Role :The HR Manager will lead and support the Human Resources function with a strong focus on employee relations, HR strategy, compliance, reporting, and process improvement. This HR Manager will partner closely with leadership, supervisors, and HR staff to ensure alignment across all HR operations.
- Leading employee relations initiatives, investigations, conflict resolution, and performance management escalations
- Ensuring consistent enforcement of policies and procedures across a manufacturing workforce
- Serving as a trusted HR partner to managers and employees
- Developing and implementing HR best practices and standard operating procedures
- Identifying and executing HR process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
- Maintaining HR metrics including turnover, retention, staffing analysis, and compliance tracking
- Creating dashboards and analytics to support data-driven decision-making
- Supporting workforce planning and organizational strategy
- Building and supporting training, development, and succession planning programs
- Ensuring HR compliance, audit readiness, and accurate documentation practices
- Assisting with union-related compliance as needed
- Providing leadership and mentorship to HR staff
- Supporting onboarding and HR administration processes
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience required
- Manufacturing industry experience required
- Paylocity experience highly preferred
- Waste management industry experience a strong plus
- Strong background in employee relations and HR operations
- Experience managing HR compliance, reporting, and performance management
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
