Position

Legal Recruiting Coordinator/Specialist (Midwest) — Permanent Placements is expanding its Midwest Legal Recruiting practice group by adding a Junior Legal Recruiter, or sales‑driven professionals with strong knowledge of the legal field, to support our Director and Vice President’s recruiting efforts.

Responsibilities
  • Proven sales ability and drive. This is a sales/placements driven role. Success depends on your ability to source legal talent, build strong relationships, and close placements for attorneys or professional staff.
  • Source and recruit according to our proven process; conduct a high volume of outreach via cold calling, emails, text, and Linked In connections/InMails.
  • Build searches, manage intake and onboarding support, publish job descriptions to the company website and social media, and assist with outreach to candidates and clients.
  • Assist with setting appointments and contribute to direct‑hire placements across a variety of firm sizes and practice areas.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records in an Applicant Tracking System (Bullhorn experience is a plus), use social media platforms (Linked In/Linked In Recruiter), and utilize attorney databases (Leopard List, Firm Prospects, etc.).
  • Reach out to candidates by phone, email, text, Linked In, etc., and collaborate within a supportive team culture.
Qualifications
  • Some legal industry experience; familiarity with law firm environments, legal support staffing, and/or attorney‑level recruitment.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Live somewhere within the Greater Chicago area (CST).
  • 1 year or more of experience in legal recruiting, contract or direct hire.

Compensation

Exceptional Earning Potential (Base salary + commission)

  • First year recruiters typically earn $70,000–$90,000 all in.
  • Established 2nd year recruiters often exceed $120,000–$150,000 annually as they build out their legal desk and are promoted within the company to a territory of their own.
  • Successful, consistent recruiters earn $200,000+ annually in their third year and beyond.
