A mission-driven nonprofit organization in Chicago is seeking a Human Resource Manager to join its team. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful organizational impact by shaping how employees are supported, developed, and engaged across the organization. The Human Resource Manager will lead people-centered strategies that strengthen culture, enhance performance, and advance equity at all levels. The salary range for this position is 85k-105k and includes a comprehensive benefits package, including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k), and generous paid time off.
Responsibilities of the Human Resource Manager:
- Lead and oversee employee relations practices, including conflict resolution strategies
- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and leaders on performance management, workplace concerns, and policy interpretation
- Design and refine hiring and onboarding processes in partnership with recruiting and business leaders, while advancing inclusive and equitable hiring strategies that broaden and strengthen candidate pipelines
- Guide organization-wide performance review cycles and promote continuous feedback practices
- Develop clear frameworks for career progression and internal mobility
- Identify critical roles and build succession plans to support long-term organizational sustainability
- Partner with senior leadership to assess future workforce needs and talent priorities
- Oversee mentoring, engagement, and talent-focused programs that support employee growth
- Embed equity, inclusion, and belonging principles into all talent management practices
Qualifications of the Manager of Talent Management:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field
- HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or similar) preferred
- 5–7 years of progressive experience in human resources or talent management
- Demonstrated expertise in employee relations, recruiting, and performance management
- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills across all levels of an organization
- High level of discretion and ability to manage sensitive information
- Commitment to continuous learning, feedback, and continuous improvement
