The HR Business Partner will report to the Director Employee & Labor Relations and will serve as a business partner on HR matters for the management team and proactively creates solutions for long term success.

  • Creates and maintains a strong partnership with local WeDrive

    U management team to manage Human Resources activities including but not limited to relevant wage and hour law administration, interpretation and policy implementation, employee relations, disciplinary action coaching and write ups, labor relations, and employee and management investigations.
  • Generates reports and creates metrics for management.
  • Recommends new approaches and policies & procedures to influence continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Manages HR special projects as needed.
  • Supervision Received: Works independently under direction of VP, HR and HR Management team.
  • Supervision Exercised: Works independently on programs and projects in alignment with HR Team.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Builds strong relationships with field management and employees to improve collaboration, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Works with Shop Stewards and management team to ensure compliance with company policy and the collective bargaining agreements. Responds to inquiries and provides thoughtful follow-through in an efficient and complete manner.
  • Supports the Employee and Labor Relations function. Manages and resolves employee relations issues and conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations ensuring compliance with WeDrive

    U and local laws.
  • Ensures proper documentation and follow-through are completed in a timely manner with solid communication of results to both employees and managers.
  • Participates in coordinating training initiatives for We Drive University , the company training program.
  • Maintains HR policies and procedures. Recommend new approaches to influence continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.

Skills Required and Physical Demands
  • Strong working knowledge of all applicable Human Resources laws and policies at federal and appropriate state level.
  • Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines, including talent acquisition, compensation practices, organizational development, employee and labor relations, training, diversity, and performance management.
  • Strong knowledge of wage and hour laws. Working knowledge of union collective bargaining laws, negotiations, and approaches.
  • Excellent communication, project management, presentation, process administration, interpersonal, and relationship building skills.
  • Interpret laws, policies and processes to all levels of employees.
  • Deliver results that support business goals and objectives.
  • Review and deliver training programs and create solutions that match needs of employees.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Very strong ability to be confidential and handle information discreetly.
  • Proactively raise issues and create solutions.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace and HR Systems.
  • Hybrid (Office/Remote) position, with possible travel up to 15% of the time.

Education and Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
  • Union experience preferred.
