Position Summary
The Vice President of Human Resources (VP of HR) is a senior executive leader responsible for developing and executing HR strategy aligned with organizational goals across a multi-facility healthcare organization. This role oversees all HR functions including talent acquisition, employee relations, labor compliance, performance management, compensation and benefits, leadership development, and culture. The VP of HR partners closely with executive leadership to drive operational excellence, workforce stability, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and execute enterprise-wide HR strategy aligned with business and clinical objectives
Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team
Oversee talent acquisition, onboarding, retention, and workforce planning across multiple facilities
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws (including healthcare-specific regulations)
Lead employee relations, investigations, corrective action, and performance management processes
Oversee compensation, benefits, payroll coordination, and HRIS systems
Develop leadership, succession planning, and training programs for management teams
Drive culture, engagement, and accountability across the organization
Partner with operations and clinical leadership to address staffing challenges and reduce turnover
Manage and mentor the HR team, setting clear expectations and performance standards
Analyze HR metrics and trends to inform executive decision-making
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)
5+ years of progressive HR leadership experience
Prior VP, Director, or senior HR leadership experience required
Strong knowledge of employment law, labor relations, and compliance
Experience in healthcare, long-term care, or multi-site environments strongly preferred
Proven ability to influence executive leadership and drive change
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
