Chapman and Cutler LLP is seeking a motivated Human Resources Project Coordinator to join the Human Resources Department in the Chicago office.
The Human Resources Project Coordinator will provide strategic coordination and project management for firmwide HR tasks and initiatives.
Responsibilities- HRIS sourcing and selection: coordinate internal/external project teams, stakeholders, vendors, and tasks aligned with the HRIS initiative.
- Pre- and post-implementation roll-out tasks: support workflow and module set-ups within the employee life cycle.
- Performance Evaluation Software (vi Desktop): manage system configuration, coding, branching evaluation questions, linking, and end-user access; respond to inquiries and mitigate data integrity issues; handle updates, testing, training, maintenance, documentation, and communication.
- Annual Performance Evaluation Process: design and distribute evaluation templates, circulate timelines and compensation metrics, collaborate with managers to determine training needs, compile data, coordinate training programs, assist with benchmarking and salary grading.
- Human Resources Business Continuity: assist in digitizing HR processes, manage file conversion projects, streamline onboarding materials, update intranet site, maintain DMS files, support COVID-19 policies and return-to-work initiatives.
- Compliance: ensure firmwide compliance with federal, state, and local employment requirements; coordinate data requests and audits.
- Assist in developing and maintaining HR departmental best practices, manage revisions to handbooks and orientation materials, and perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred) or Associate's Degree; at least 3 years of prior HR experience, preferably law firm environment.
- Proficiency working with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Superior organizational, proofreading, and analytical skills; detail oriented.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work well under pressure.
- Committed to client service; professional demeanor and discretion required.
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
