God Restoring Order (GRO) Community is a mental healthcare provider that specializes in trauma recovery services for males of color ages 5 and up. GRO services are grounded in an understanding of the neurological, biological and psychological effects of trauma. GRO services include mental health and wellness, stress management, and community outreach.

Position Summary

The Human Resources Generalist supports the HR department’s daily operations across all facets of HR administration, talent acquisition, and employee support. This position works closely with the HR Supervisor to ensure accurate recordkeeping, smooth recruitment and onboarding, and the efficient execution of HR administrative functions. The HR Generalist will help streamline HR systems, maintain data accuracy, coordinate hiring workflows, and serve as a resource for staff and managers.

This role is ideal for a self‑motivated HR professional who thrives in a dynamic, mission‑driven environment and enjoys the operational side of people support.

Key Responsibilities Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to coordinate full‑cycle recruitment activities including posting, screening, scheduling, and offer letters.
  • Ensure a seamless onboarding experience, including new hire orientation coordination, compliance document collection, and system setup.
  • Maintain applicant tracking and recruitment metrics across entities.
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization‑wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
  • Performs other duties as needed based on the needs of the organization/department.
Employee Records & HR Data Management
  • Maintain employee personnel files and electronic HR records in accordance with compliance standards and confidentiality requirements.
  • Input and update employee information in HRIS, ensuring data accuracy for new hires, terminations, and status changes.
  • Track licenses, certifications, and mandatory training completions across entities.
  • Assist with preparation for internal audits, credentialing, and compliance reviews.
  • Support regular data clean‑up, file audits, and report generation for HR metrics.
HR Operations & Administrative Support
  • Support day‑to‑day HR administrative processes including documentation management, form tracking, and HR inbox responses.
  • Prepare and process HR‑related forms (new hire packets, status changes, termination forms, etc.).
  • Assist with benefits coordination, open enrollment activities, and employee inquiries.
  • Help coordinate staff communications and HR updates, including announcements and reminders.
  • Maintain inventory of HR templates, forms, and onboarding materials.
  • Support HR Supervisor and HR Director in ongoing HR projects, process improvements, and cross‑department initiatives.

Other tasks may be assigned or implemented as needed based on organizational and departmental needs.

Work Environment
  • Monday‑Friday; 40 hours per week
  • Schedule:

    8a‑4p Mon/Wed/Fri and 10a‑6p Tues/Thurs
  • Onsite Required
  • Travel less than 10%; some may be needed for events or to company site locations
Competencies
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HR software (e.g., HRIS).
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent required;
    Bachelors preferred
  • 2–4 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in healthcare, behavioral health, or nonprofit sectors.
  • Strong understanding of HR operations, recordkeeping, and recruitment processes.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and ATS platforms.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
