Reports directly to Stewarding Supervisor/Assistant Chief Steward/Chief Steward

Interacts and cooperates with others in the Stewarding Department.

Interacts and cooperates with other Departments as appropriate.

Washes, scrubs, and maintains Kitchen and related walls and floors.

Operates dishwashing machine to manufacturer's specifications and instructions.

Washes and scrubs pots and pans used in the Kitchen.

Arranges Chinaware, Silver in store rooms and shelves.

Empties various garbage cans as appropriate.

Assists Kitchen personnel as required.

Adopts the "Clear as you go" method of working.

Sets up work station as required including filling dish machine, checking chemical levels, setting up flatware presoak, and gathering required set-up equipment for pot sink.

Rinses/scrapes all dishes; washes dishes and flatware as each rack is filled; may put clean dishes in assigned storage location.

Sweeps and mops kitchen floor at the end of each meal period and after each spill.

Monitors chemicals and water temperature during shift; changes water at specified intervals.

Cleans kitchen equipment such as hoods, filters, steam tables, bus tables, carts, ovens, and grills; cleans and organizes storeroom.

Notifies supervisor of any malfunctioning equipment or unsafe condition.

Complies with IHG Hygiene and Sanitation standards.

Complies with Hotel's Health and Safety Policy.

Maintains a clean and quiet environment for our guests behind the scenes.

Attends meetings and hotel training sessions as required by hotel management. At IHG we are committed to providing our employees with a safe, secure and healthy workplace. High School diploma or equivalent vocational training

Previous experience in this position at a similar establishment

Food Hygiene awareness and at least basic training.

Ability to communicate in English with guests, co–workers and Management to their understanding.

Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations

Ability to provide legible written communication.

Previous job related experience

Ability to communicate in a second language

The salary range for this role is $25.51 to $27.64
