Job Summary
Little Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a 106-bed skilled nursing and psychiatric facility located in the historic Little Village community in Chicago, Illinois, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. As a key member of our financial department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, requesting resident funding, making online deposits/withdrawals and ensuring insurance is setup for billing purposes.

Responsibilities:
Assure that all elements of the resident admission packet have been completed in a timely manner.
Assure that signatures on facility admission packet items are legal and signor is legally allowed to sign all items(i.e. Guardianship, POA, Self).
Assist residents and their POA with the application/approval process for Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security Benefits and or private insurance paperwork. Assure that all aspects of this process are completed and submitted to the relevant agency on a timely basis.
Establish tracking systems to monitor the IDPA approval process, Private Pay Collection process, social security benefit process.
Assure that a copy of all identification and insurance inforamtion is maintained in the residential file (i.e. social security card, supplemental insurance card, state
Communicate all problem issues (funsing denials) immediately to the administrator.
Maintain records of deposit and trust fund disbursement
Maintain resident financial reports per facility protocols.
Report needed equipment to, supplied to Administration.
Ensure all HIPPA compliance and procedures are followed and maintained.
Ensure the resident/employee environment is as free from accidents and hazard as is possible.
All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must have prior bookkeeping experience preferably in a healthcare setting.
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication and analytical skills
Must possess ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members,visitors, government agancies/personnel and the general public.
