Position Overview

Manatt Health is seeking a highly qualified director to join our growing team working with providers and health systems. Our team works with leading integrated delivery systems, academic medical centers, and children’s hospitals to navigate today’s most complex challenges.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our nationally recognized and innovative full-service professional services team combining deep legal and regulatory experience with strategic, business and policy insight working with clients to deliver customized, actionable solutions across all mission areas: clinical care, research, education and community engagement.

Responsibilities
  • The Director will provide project oversight, strategic business services, and advisory solutions to our clients including health systems (community based, faith based, cancer centers), academic medical centers, and children’s hospitals.
  • Leading and managing projects from start to execution; establishing and maintaining senior client relationships; providing strategic advisory services to clients related to designing and executing enterprise-wide strategies, advancing delivery system transformation, and optimizing reimbursement and policy engagement.
  • In-depth qualitative and quantitative research and analysis on health care business and policy issues, process design, and strategic planning; presentation development and delivery; and oversight of mid-level and junior-level consultants’ project work and professional development. Deep knowledge of and experience working with health systems is required.
  • Prior management consulting experience and experience working on health systems with strategic planning is required. The ability to be a business developer by sourcing new clients or significantly expanding existing relationships is preferred.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience in business administration, public health, health administration, health care management, or other related areas.
  • 10+ years of health care experience with a health system or hospital or as a consultant working in the provider space.
  • Financial and practical experience running programs in large, complicated health systems, preferably in one or more of the following areas: oncology, neuroscience, cardiovascular care.
  • Prior experience as a management consultant, preferably with a role in leading or co-leading successful health systems projects.
  • Demonstrated client management, project management, and supervisory experience, with proven accountability in project strategy and execution, from interaction with client through to deliverable.
  • Strong working relationships with current clients and a proven capacity to cultivate new clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills tailored to a variety of audiences, as well as confidence in presenting to groups.
  • Strong analytic skills with the ability to evaluate health care data to generate descriptive statistics and conduct more complex analyses that address strategy and policy questions.
  • Excellent computer skills, including expert-level knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • A self-starter with the ability to juggle multiple, diverse projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment and develop creative solutions to meet client and team needs.
