Job DescriptionHRDI is seeking full-time and floater Residential Cooks to assist in providing quality food services which meets resident needs.
In addition, the
Residential Cook will:
- Prepares meal for population of facility
- Appropriately follows and posts menus as directed by agency nutritionist or supervisor
- Maintains inventory of foods and food supplies, and submits requisition of needs to appropriate staff
- Maintains equipment in clean and proper operating order
- Responsible for safety and sanitation of all foods stored, prepared and served
- Responsible for teams of clients and other staff as they assist in preparation and storage of food
- Provides training to food service assistants
- Responsible for following all public health rules and regulations regarding food service delivery
- Prepares monthly reports on operation of Food Preparation Component of Program
- All duties are to be in accordance with the City of Chicago, and State of Illinois guidelines regarding food service
- All other duties as assigned
HRDI is also seeking a Food Service Supervisor for our residential program. Supervisory experience and dietician license required.

QualificationsThis position requires a minimum:
- Must possess a valid City and State Food Service license
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Special training in food service and nutrition recommended
- Thorough understanding of public health rules and regulations regarding food safety and sanitation
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment
- Moderate physical activity. May require physical effort including lifting up to 25-50 pounds and some
- Extended periods of standing or walking
- No or very limited exposure to physical risk
- Ability to lift 25 - 50 lbs.
