The Pharmacy Technician II performs technical functions of drug distribution for Ambulatory Pharmacy Services under the direct supervision of licensed Clinical Pharmacists or Pharmacy Technician III and assists Pharmacists/Managers in the supervision of Pharmacy Technician I and Pharmacy Externs.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Basic pharmaceutical compounding skills (sterile and non-sterile)
  • Understanding and acting in accordance with the laws pertaining to confidentiality
  • Navigating complex processes and systems
  • Assisting in maintaining an efficient workflow
  • Filling prescriptions, maintaining inventory, cash register/point of sale transactions
  • Entering prescription orders into a computerized system
  • Providing excellent customer service to all
  • Filling outpatient prescriptions
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the State of Illinois.
  • Any one of the following that equals six (6) months:
    Successful completion of a formal training program in technical, non-professional pharmaceutical procedures and practices.
  • Work experience in technical, non-professional pharmaceutical procedures and practices. One (1) year (12 months) of work experience as a pharmacy technician.
