Salary Range: $45.49 – $53.32 per hour
Job Summary: The per diem MRI Technician manages MRI scanner operations on an as‑needed basis. Responsibilities include performing scans, archiving studies, post‑processing images, and maintaining imaging data. The technician also assists remotely with scheduling and billing of MRI scanners.
The position is primarily remote, with the possibility of 1–2 in‑person days per month, potentially including weekend days.
Specific Responsibilities- Manage MRI scanner operations and ensure MRI safety. Perform scans, archive studies, post‑process images, and maintain imaging data. MR safety training will be provided.
- Manage billing for Neuro
CTI. - Assist with scheduling, including advanced bookings.
- Enter accurate information into databases.
- Assist PI in reviewing, analyzing, interpreting, summarizing, formatting, and preparing tables, charts, graphs, progress and final reports.
- Coordinate between sponsoring agencies, collaborative organizations, and other research and educational institutions.
- Ensure research regulations are adhered to, ACUC approvals are in place, material transfer agreements are properly executed, and radiation and lab safety requirements are up‑to‑date and implemented.
- Act as point of contact for new studies: scheduling scanning time, establishing protocols, and resolving facility issues and safety issues.
- Compile information for CTI leadership.
- Train, direct, assign duties to, and supervise other staff and students.
- Provide instruction to lab users on technically complex procedures, equipment, and instruments. Train and certify users for independent human and phantom MR scanning, and teach facility policies and MRI safety.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsSuccessful completion of a full 4‑year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor’s or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in MRI scanning.
Experience with MR data collection and image post‑processing is required.
Board Certified MRI.
Basic Life Support Certified.
IDNS certified.
Minimum Competencies- Proficient in MRI scanning.
- Experience with post‑processing MRI data.
- Knowledge of MR physics.
- Proficient at neuroanatomy and brain function.
