Pay Range: $41.44 - $67.44 per hour

SummaryThis position performs a variety of breast imaging procedures that require independent judgement, ingenuity and competency. Performs dual role breast ultrasound exams performing both mammography images and ultrasound sonography and related procedures by operating Ultrasound equipment to make images of designated areas and evaluate the technical quality of images. Acts as liaison between the Breast Imaging Center and Radiologists. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values, and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
Otherinformation
- Graduate of/ obtained certification of completion of/ a formal Accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program
- Active certification by American Registry and Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS, ) in Breast or by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT, BS) with advanced certification in Breast Ultrasound
- 2 years of Breast Imaging experience.
- Demonstrate sonographic skills to identify, record and adapt procedures as appropriate to patient for anatomical, pathological and diagnostic information and images.
- Demonstrate independent judgment to acquire the optimum breast sonographic information in each examination performed.
- Ability to evaluate images for technical quality, assuring proper identification is recorded and correct imaging protocol is followed.
- Ability to operate sonographic equipment effectively.
- Ability to consistently acquire high quality images, demonstrates overall excellent quality work.
- Ability to evaluate and communicate breast information to the attending physician.
- Ability to communicate effectively with the patient and health care team, recognizing the special needs of each patient.
- Ability to provide appropriate 1:1 feedback, coaching and mentoring to staff in the effort to continually improve image quality and patient care.
