School Social Worker, LCSW – On‑Site (Chicago, IL)

Join our team as an On‑Site Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and support students’ mental health and emotional well‑being at E‑Therapy.

Position Details

  • Hours:

    Full‑time (37.5 hours/week)
  • Grade Levels: K‑8th grade
  • Compensation:
    Starting at $42/hr (commensurate with experience)

    100% On‑Site

Position Overview

The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing social work services to students, families, and school staff, addressing social, emotional, and behavioral concerns to support students’ overall well‑being and academic success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments of students’ mental health, social‑emotional functioning, and behavioral needs.
  • Provide individual and group counseling services focused on anxiety, depression, trauma, peer relationships, and family conflict.
  • Respond to crises, including suicide risk assessments, child abuse reporting, and emergency mental health support.
  • Participate in development and implementation of IEPs and 504 Plans addressing emotional, behavioral, and social goals.
  • Serve as liaison among school personnel, families, and community agencies to coordinate support and resources.
  • Develop and implement school‑wide prevention programs and SEL initiatives.
  • Provide consultation to teachers and staff on behavioral strategies, trauma‑informed care, and mental health concerns.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, treatment plans, interventions, progress, and referrals.
What You Need
  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE‑accredited program.
  • Active state licensure as an LCSW or equivalent.
  • Experience providing clinical or school‑based social work services to children and adolescents.
  • Strong clinical skills in assessment, counseling, and crisis response.
  • Knowledge of school systems, child development, and evidence‑based interventions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic record‑keeping systems.

Physical Requirements

The role requires standing, walking, and moving around the school facility.
