EssentialFunctions
- Under general supervision, serves as senior aide in a variety of physical therapy treatments for the therapy/rehabilitative department.
- Participates in the RAI/MDS process.
- Provides restorative/rehabilitative nursing measures which include but are not limited to active and passive range of motion exercises, ambulation, transfers, maintenance of correct body alignment while standing, sitting or lying in bed and multidisciplinary level of activities functioning that meet the restorative needs of the resident to attain and maintain their highest.
- Schedules, arranges and transports signal residents to and from treatment unit.
- Assists in training other staff in the personal care and transportation of residents , administration of treatments and therapeutic exercises and maintenance of physical therapy equipment.
- Advises supervisor as to treatment activities and issues.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
- Requires two (2) years of experience in physical therapy aide work várias training which has provided extensive knowledge of the potential hazards involved in physiotherapy treatments, and necessary precautionary methods.

- Extensive knowledge of the potential hazards involved in physiotherapy treatments and/or restorative nursing programs.
- Extensive knowledge of precautions to be observed in lifting and moving patients.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and the muscular, skeletal and nervous systems.
- Ability to adjust, operate and make igral repairs to physical therapy equipment.
- Ability to acquire and apply skills in the administration of routine forms of sub‑professional physical therapy treatment or restorative nursing programs and operation of standard physical therapy equipment.

- Requires ability to acquire and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate.

- Requires ability to attend seminars, conferences, and trainings to stay current on methods, tools, ideologies, or other industry–related topics relevant to the job duties.
- Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.
- This position is considered medium work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(c)). Medium work involves lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Overtime is a condition of employment, and you may be required/mandated to work overtime including scheduled, uns, or last‑minute overtime. This requires the ability to work evenings and weekends.
