The Outpatient Pharmacy Manager will lead, direct, and provide oversight to a team of pharmacy technicians and pharmacists. As the pharmacy manager you will be responsible for all aspects of pharmacy including patient safety, quality assurance, regulatory management, prescription workflow and inventory and personnel management. You will develop and oversee clinical pharmacy programs and serve as a model of company values, ensuring team follow‑through.
Key Responsibilities- Fulfill Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) requirements, uphold board of pharmacy, state, and federal law, ensuring all pharmacy personnel comply with all requirements.
- Ensure pharmacy operations follow state licensure requirements and Good Faith Effort dispensing regulations.
- Welcome patients, help with products and services, and resolve complaints promptly.
- Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, interactions, contraindications, and privacy.
- Perform pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management; review, interpret and accurately dispense prescribed medications.
- Ensure safe medication storage, diversion monitoring, and other key inventory activities.
- Supervise pharmacy operations, manage record‑keeping, auditing, inventory, and maintenance.
- Partner with HR to hire staff, recommend promotion and performance management decisions.
- BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D from an accredited institution.
- Current pharmacist licensure in IL.
- Certified Immunizer.
- At least five (5) years of pharmacy experience (prescription filling, record‑keeping, legal compliance, operations, software systems, insurance billing).
- Three (3) years of pharmacy leadership and management experience (manager or assistant director level preferred).
