Lead Ultrasound Technologist
All About Ultrasound is seeking a Lead Ultrasound Technologist to work in a full‑time day shift position.
Job SummaryThe Lead Ultrasound Technologist assists the Director, Manager, and Supervisor with day‑to‑day supervision and coordination of assigned personnel. Routine responsibilities include preparing departmental staff schedules, assisting with inspections, participating in quality control and image critique activities, managing supplies, daily billing reconciliation, and providing guidance and interventions for employees and patients as needed.
Responsibilities- Performs ultrasound exams per department protocol.
- Performs the quality control functions related to ultrasound.
- Ensures adherence to hospital policies, protocols, and healthcare regulations.
- Maintains high standards of patient safety and quality care.
- Collaborates with the Medical Imaging Supervisor to assign work schedules, monitor attendance, and ensure adequate staffing levels for the Ultrasound Department.
- Inventories departmental supplies and keeps stock at appropriate par levels.
- Co‑maintains employee files with the Medical Imaging Supervisor & Imaging Manager.
- Onboards new staff members and provides continuing education opportunities, including routine image critique via Teams for educational support and quality interventions.
- Serves as a liaison among staff, patients, families, and hospital administration.
- Addresses patient concerns and improves service delivery.
- Promotes a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Ensures proper maintenance and functionality of ultrasound equipment.
- Collaborates effectively with Imaging Director, Imaging Manager, Imaging Supervisor, & Radiology Chair.
- Contributes updates to Ultrasound Imaging Policies, Workflows, and Protocols in collaboration with the Medical Imaging Supervisor, Imaging Manager, Imaging Director, & Radiology Chair.
- 5+ years’ experience as an ultrasound tech.
- 1+ years of leadership experience (preferred).
- Excellent oral & written communication skills.
- Knowledge and skillset to perform all exams (within the scope of an Ultrasound Technologist) on patients from newborn to geriatric.
- Successful completion of an approved ultrasound program.
- ARDMS‑certified (required).
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
- Comprehension of cross‑sectional anatomy & physics of ultrasound theory.
- BLS‑certified (required).
Mid‑Senior level.
