The Waterford Care Center is seeking a Resident Assistant to join their team! The Resident Assistant assists in providing exceptional customer service to our residents, performing non-medical assistance.

Resident Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet and maintain positive, friendly relationships with all residents
  • Assist in-room residents by visiting with them, writing letters, running errands, and perform assistance with crafts, projects, etc., as necessary.
  • Ensure that rooms are prepared for the arrival of new residents.
  • Assist with the distribution of food trays to residents.
  • Manage, maintain, and organize resident property in accordance with policies and standards.
  • Help organize and put away resident laundry.
  • Answer call-lights, and get appropriate staff to help resident if needed.
  • Address any concerns that residents may have with appropriate department heads and leadership.
  • Bring residents to assigned areas throughout the facility as needed
  • Make beds, and straighten up rooms.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Resident Assistant

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • The ability to serve our residents in a manner that makes them feel valued.
  • A passion for the elderly and other residents in our care.

Resident Assistant

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Must enroll in a certified nursing certificate program within 3-6 months of employment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.
  • Ability to push a wheelchair weighing up to 300 lbs.
  • Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards. Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.
  • Meet all health requirements as needed.
