Job Description

The Physical Therapist reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • A licensed physical therapist who complies with the Code of Ethics/Standards of Practice as outlined by their professional organization and by the State of Illinois.
  • Direct patient care, teaching, committee participation, and departmental process improvement.
  • Serve as a role model for all therapists and clinical interns in professional, clinical, communication, education and leadership activities.
  • Demonstrate NM values of teamwork, patients first, integrity, and excellence in daily work.
  • Present a friendly, approachable, professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Provide accurate information and timely updates to patients and customers.
  • Use effective service recovery skills to solve problems or service breakdowns.
  • Maintain primary responsibility over patient care plans through collaboration with PT/PTA staff.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and effective communication across departments.
  • Use organizational and unit resources efficiently.
  • Manage work schedule efficiently, completing tasks on time.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement processes.
  • Participate in cost‑saving, process‑streamlining efforts.
  • Perform creative problem‑solving and adapt treatment to special circumstances.
  • Select appropriate evaluations, modalities, equipment, and protocols; perform re‑evaluations per guidelines.
  • Document treatment plans and progress in EMR per department policy.
  • Provide educational materials tailored to patient understanding and motivation.
  • Participate in committees, department processes, and special projects.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with healthcare team members.
  • Create a culture of respectful communication and timely acknowledgement of contributions.
  • Accept constructive feedback and make timely changes.
  • Complete non‑patient care responsibilities within established timelines.
  • Contribute to educational efforts (in‑services, journal clubs, orientation).
  • Serve as a clinical instructor, mentor, or observation host for student programs.
  • Maintain productivity standards.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to meet patient care needs and attend required meetings.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Licensed Physical Therapist in the State of Illinois.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
Preferred
  • Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy.
