• Work as part of the procedure team in procedure rooms, scrubbing the case while ensuring patient safety processes are in place and followed.
• Set up instruments, check functioning of electronic/powered equipment, and work closely with physicians while passing instruments and anticipating their equipment/instrument needs throughout the procedure.
• Maintain an in‑depth understanding of aseptic technique and sterile procedures, maintaining an aseptic environment and applying sterile fields.
• Keep stands and back tables neat and orderly to facilitate easy access to instruments, facilitating quick and thorough counts.
• Prepare appropriate equipment and supplies for each procedure.
• Maintain accuracy of all sponge, needle, and instrument counts.
• Assist with between‑case clean‑up and preparations for the following cases; return equipment to its proper storage area when needed.
• Clean and stock procedure rooms at the end of the day.

• High level of manual dexterity and visual concentration to pass instruments and observe sterile techniques.
• Perform a variety of functions in the OR to assist the surgical team.
• Knowledge of anatomy & physiology and knowledge of OR equipment.
• AST certification or eligibility within one year.
• Completion of an accredited surgical tech program or previous OR experience.
• BLS current certification required.
