Supportive Services Implementation Research Coordinator
University of Chicago Medicine is seeking a Supportive Services Implementation Research Coordinator to assist with day‑to‑day operations of funded projects involving LGBTQ and individuals living with or at increased risk of HIV. The role is grant funded and requires knowledge of NIH and CDC regulations.
Job SummaryThe Coordinator will oversee implementation research projects, support recruitment, screening, consent, deliver assessments, and support data entry and analysis. The Coordinator will also conduct literature reviews, support manuscript and grant writing, and coordinate multiple related projects to ensure optimal recruitment and fidelity to study requirements. The Coordinator will assist with development of study protocols, survey instruments, and maintenance of databases.
Responsibilities- Recruit, screen, and consent community members.
- Deliver assessments, interventions, and controls, supporting data entry and analysis.
- Offer referrals to service programming when appropriate.
- Conduct literature reviews and support manuscript and grant writing.
- Engage in data management and analysis as needed.
- Oversee day‑to‑day research project operations.
- Assist with operations of CDC and NIH funded projects involving LGBTQ and criminal justice‑involved populations vulnerable to COVID and HIV.
- Coordinate multiple related projects to ensure optimal recruitment, enrollment, and fidelity to complex requirements of study participation and follow‑up counseling.
- Assist with development of study protocols, survey instruments, and maintenance of databases.
- Provide HIV/STI treatment, education, and prevention in non‑traditional settings.
- Perform phlebotomy or be willing to be trained.
- Support evening and weekend events when research is requested on site.
- Perform various administrative and operational tasks under moderate supervision.
- Use knowledge of clinical studies to coordinate collection of analyzable clinical research data and/or samples.
- Vocational training, apprenticeships or equivalent experience in related field (four‑year degree not required).
- 5‑7 years of work experience in related discipline.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Research experience.
- Background working with individuals identifying as gender or sexual minorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Demonstrated effective leadership and teaching skills.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Strong knowledge of Chicago social service resources and program subject matter.
- Creativity and flexibility.
- Ability to manage stressful situations and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong written and verbal communication and analytical skills.
- Travel to various community venues across the metropolitan area.
- Work non‑traditional hours.
