Salary range: $43.26 - $60.56 per hour. Placement is based on experience and internal equity.

The Ultrasonographer supports the physician by performing technically expert diagnostic ultrasound and related procedures to aid in diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, and follow‑up of patients. The role requires a patient‑centered approach, reducing anxiety and promoting comfort throughout the procedure.

• Assess the patient, evaluate the request for diagnostic ultrasound services, and determine the appropriate method of application.
• Prepare equipment and accessories, complete sterile tray preparation, position the patient, and perform ultrasound and related procedures.
• Lift and transport patients to and from imaging devices.
• Provide patient education before, during, and after the procedure.
• Observe the patient and communicate pertinent information to the physician.
• Generate patient reports and send acquired images electronically for accession/retrieval.
• Ensure continuity of care through effective interactions with other departments.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and promptly report deficiencies to management.
• Monitor supply stock to ensure adequate reserve.
• Collect data to measure and track quality management.
• Support department initiatives (formal or informal process improvement, problem solving).
• Instruct and provide clinical guidance to students.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification.
• Diploma or certificate of completion from an accredited medical sonography program.
• Zero (0) to two (2) years’ experience in a relevant role.
• Technical competency in the relevant specialty.
• American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification relevant to specialty area/modality.
• Physical Demand Requirement: lift/carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull force up to 50 pounds.

• Associate or bachelor’s Degree.
• Three or more years’ experience.
• Additional certification relevant to specialty area.
