3 12‑hour shifts per week, nights only
Hourly rate: $41.42 - $55.92 (based on experience and internal equity)
Sign‑on bonus: $8,000 for eligible new hires

Description

We are seeking a Radiographer – CT to perform computed tomography and related procedures in accordance with industry standards and departmental protocols. The role includes providing high‑quality patient care, operating imaging systems, ensuring radiation safety, and collaborating with the radiology team to support image interpretation and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Perform CT procedures following established protocols.
  • Evaluate procedure requests and assess patient suitability for the selected protocol.
  • Operate imaging equipment, accessories, and positioning techniques to produce diagnostic images.
  • Deliver patient care throughout procedures, adhering to departmental and hospital standards.
  • Assist with patient transport and lifting as needed.
  • Review images for quality and correct issues; consult reference materials when necessary.
  • Educate patients before, during, and after procedures to reduce anxiety and improve comfort.
  • Adhere to radiation safety practices to limit exposure to patients, self, and colleagues.
  • Perform preliminary interpretation to expedite radiologist intervention when required.
  • Notify physicians of patient condition changes or unique imaging findings.
  • Maintain flexibility to meet daily schedule demands and productivity goals.
  • Collaborate with Resource and Technical Coordinators to learn new procedures and software updates.
Additional Functions
  • Document imaging procedures accurately for charging, tracking, and film file management.
  • Send images to the PACS system with correct accession numbers.
  • Monitor imaging room supplies and reorder as necessary.
  • Report equipment failures or irregularities promptly to supervisor or technical coordinator.
  • Distribute radiology outpatient surveys to patients for quality improvement.
Quality Management Responsibilities
  • Provide services of optimal quality and productivity with excellent customer service.
  • Collect data for quality measure and tracking.
  • Participate in process improvement and problem‑solving activities.
  • Identify quality issues and communicate them to management and committees.
  • Coordinate continuity of care with other departments.
  • Serve as a role model for new radiographers.
  • Participate in in‑service programs and assist with their development.
  • Maintain credentials and meet continuing education requirements.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Technology, Applied Science, Radiography, or completion certificate of a hospital‑sponsored program.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
  • Active Illinois Emergency Management Department of Nuclear Safety license.
  • ARRT Post‑Primary CT Certification required within one year of start date.
  • CPR Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
