• Perform a comprehensive array of sophisticated non‑invasive procedures demonstrating the appropriate anatomy of interest.
• Independently provide complete and accurate images for diagnostic purposes.
• Document patient history.
• Communicate “Wet Read” reports to physician offices.
• Record patient medical information.
• Explain the test procedures to the patient.
• Ensure a secure and safe patient and work environment by maintaining awareness of safety hazard labels.
• Comply with procedural standards in the care of our patient population.
• Assist with proper positioning of patients as necessary (protective measures).
• Cleans, prepares, and sanitizes all transducers according to manufacturer recommendations and infection‑control standards.
• Apply sterile techniques and prevent cross‑contamination to patients and instruments.
• Maintain adequate supplies for the Ultrasound Department.
• Provide technical support for smooth and efficient operation of the Ultrasound Department.
• Provide encounter forms for completed procedures which are ready for billing.
• Communicate with other departments to schedule various exams for the patient.
• Interact closely with the site manager for smooth daily operation of the department.
• Attend regularly scheduled department meetings and in‑services.
• Help answer telephones and schedule patients as needed.
• Stay abreast of the latest ultrasound developments.
• Obtain membership in local, state, or national societies.
• Attend continuing education seminars.
• Maintain professional accreditation.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement projects.

• Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen, OB/GYN, or other specialties—obtained within 3 months unless exempt.
• Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration—obtained within 3 months unless exempt.
• Vascular Sonography (VS) registration—obtained within 3 months unless exempt.
• Vascular Specialist (RVS) registration—obtained within 3 months unless exempt.
• Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS‑AE) or (RCS) registration—obtained within 18 months unless exempt.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers—obtained within 6 months.

• Graduate of an AMA‑approved School of Ultrasound. Must recognize needs and behaviors of various age‑group patients treated. Registered or registry eligible.

• Excellent skills in performing abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, and small‑parts ultrasound exams.
• Excellent knowledge of pathology pertaining to the above exams.

• Good judgment, responsibility, reliability, independent work ethic.
• Flexible working hours and on‑call rotation.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance; use patient‑handling equipment for heavier lifts.
• Good people skills and patient‑care orientation.
