Base pay range: $37.50/hr - $56.25/hr.
Education & ExperienceB.S., M.S., or D.P.T. degree from an accredited physical therapy school. Prior hospital experience preferred.
Licensure & CertificationCurrent licensure in the state of employment and CPR certification in Basic Life Support, Level
C.
- Adhere to hospital standards, promote a cooperative work environment, and utilize effective communication skills.
- Follow completed hospital, departmental, and policy procedures; keep informed about changes.
- Provide patient care assessment and treatment, ensuring evaluations and plans are comprehensive and aligned with the Standard of Practice.
- Encourage patients and significant others in goal setting and recognize changes in patient physiologic state.
- Recommend next level of care, ensuring quality patient outcomes.
- Supervise support staff, providing direction and feedback.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including written evaluations, progress notes, discharge notes, patient education, charges, departmental statistics, and ICD-10 codes.
- Ensure documentation is legible and timely.
- Meet department financial and productivity standards, understanding budgeted expectations and adjusting schedules accordingly.
- Participate in process management to optimize quality and efficiency, identifying opportunities and communicating progress or barriers to supervisors.
- Promote professional development through in‑service training and committee representation.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, staff, and external customers in a professional manner.
- Provide patient care in accordance with age/developmental guidelines, demonstrating age‑specific knowledge and updating regularly.
- Communicate professionally with physicians, nurses, and other health‑care providers.
- Communicate with patients of all ages and significant others appropriately.
- Have knowledge, clinical skills, and understanding of patient care across life spans.
- Subject to stress conditions and moderate noise.
- Clean, well‑lit, comfortable climate with occasional high moisture content.
- Frequent exposure to blood borne and airborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and body fluids.
- Possible home visits and handling emergency or crisis situations.
- Exposure to electro‑mechanical hazards and cleaning chemicals.
- Required personal protective equipment: eye protection, face protection, gown, mask, lab coat, sterile and non‑sterile gloves, shoe covers.
Talking, hearing, seeing; lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling up to 20 lbs. maximum, 50 lbs. maximum, 100 lbs. maximum.
