OR Radiology Technologist shifts; Evening shifts

Overview

OR Radiology Technologist, Full-Time with 10 hour shifts (Day or Evening shift available) at UChicago Medicine. Primary focus on operating room imaging, intraoperative radiographic support, sterile technique, and collaboration with surgical teams. New graduates welcome; additional OR training provided. Primary home base in the OR with the expectation to assist in Adult General Radiology as needed.

• Reviews physician's order to assure appropriateness of examination being requested.
• Selects appropriate exposure factors based on body part, pathology, patient’s age and equipment characteristics.
• Reviews images for proper positioning, technique and identification.
• Performs a variety of general diagnostic studies with efficiency and high quality, ensures proper protocol is used, and evaluates images for diagnostic quality prior to interpretation.
• Prepares contrast media for administration and assists the physician in GI/GU studies.
• Interacts with patients, families, medical staff and visitors in a friendly, professional manner; demonstrates AIDET principles and accommodates special needs when possible.

• Associates degree in a related medical field or equivalent experience
• Formal Radiologic Technology training in an AMA-approved program
• Certified by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
• Licensed by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA)
• Proficiency in performing diagnostic imaging; proficient with diagnostic modality equipment
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Good decision-making and judgment skills
• Maintain required continuing education as mandated by ARRT
• Knowledge of standard office practices, computers and radiology department software
• CPR certification

Base pay range: $35.00/hr - $46.00/hr eligible for up to a $20,000 sign-on bonus.
