Overview
Occupational Therapist Assistant OTA/FULL TIME with SIGN ON BONUS at Lumiere Children's Therapy Chicago. The OTA works in an interdisciplinary pediatric setting to deliver therapeutic interventions under the direction of an occupational therapist.
Responsibilities- Works with occupational therapists to plan, implement, and administer treatment programs to restore and enhance performance in individuals with functional impairments.
- Selects therapeutic activities to fit patients’ needs and capabilities.
- Instructs patients and families in home programs and education.
- Implements or assists in implementing treatment plans to help clients function independently.
- Alters treatment activities to obtain better results.
- Demonstrates therapy techniques such as manual approaches, creative arts, or games.
- Creates and carries out a treatment plan based on initial evaluations; adapts plans as needed.
- Maintains patient care quality, observes progress, and records changes in client records.
- Communicates and collaborates with the supervising occupational therapist and other health care professionals involved in a patient’s care.
- Attends team and parent meetings to review progress and update care plans.
- Keeps accurate records of patient sessions and manages caseload and authorizations; completes notes within 48 hours when applicable.
- Associates degree.
- Certification and/or licensing may be required by state law.
- Pediatric experience recommended.
- Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and bending; ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

- Occupational Therapy (OTA) Licensure in the State of Illinois.
- 1-2 years of experience.
