Physician - Virtual Primary Care (Part-time, Remote) at First Stop Health. The role involves providing virtual primary care to employer clients, delivering episodic, chronic, and preventive care via phone or video, and supporting patients remotely to reduce in-person visits when appropriate.

First Stop Health is seeking part-time physicians to join our Virtual Primary Care team. Our mission is to help employer clients reduce overall health claims spend by serving members virtually and keeping them away from in-person medical care when possible. Physicians will treat patients virtually, via phone or video, for episodic, chronic, and preventive care needs. When appropriate, patients may be sent for in-person lab work or imaging.

No coding or billing is required for virtual visits since First Stop Health does not submit claims to insurance. Malpractice insurance is provided for encounters on our platform. This role requires 10-20 hours per week with flexible shifts. Virtual Primary Care hours are 7:00am to 7:00pm CST, Monday through Friday.

• Assess and diagnose patient needs and presenting symptoms via phone or video
• Review and confirm patient medical history, current medications, medical conditions, and allergies
• Order labs, imaging, and/or refer to an in-person specialist when further care is necessary
• Analyze lab/imaging results and clearly communicate next steps to the patient via follow-up appointment
• Prescribe medications when appropriate; swap brand-name medications for lower-cost generics when clinically suitable
• Assist patients in managing chronic concerns, and advise on lifestyle regimens such as nutrition, exercise and stress reduction
• Maintain accurate patient records and encounter notes
• Operate as part of a care team to ensure timely and efficient patient care

• Board certification in family or internal medicine
• Active medical licenses; willingness to become licensed in additional states as needed
• Bandwidth to commit at least 10 hours/week to First Stop Health
• Passion for using technology to increase access to and affordability of care
• Ability to build and maintain trust with patients over time
