Clinical Dietitian – Float, Full‑Time, Days

Salary Range: $30.89–$43.25 hourly
. Placement within the range is based on experience and internal equity. For union positions, placement follows the collective bargaining agreement.

The Clinical Dietitian reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities- Provide nutritional assessments utilizing medical information, anthropometric data, laboratory values, and diet history.
- Develop nutrition care plans by selecting therapies to meet medical, developmental, socio‑cultural needs, age, and patient interests.
- Identify appropriate nutritional interventions, including recommendations for calorie/protein supplements, enteral support, vitamin/mineral supplements, and other commercial products.
- Select appropriate feeding route and enteral product, including additional modulars or vitamin/mineral preparations.
- Counsel patients on nutrition therapy tailored to their disease state, desired outcomes, and behavior objectives.
- Evaluate effectiveness of interventions using BMI, changes in medical condition, and tolerance to therapy.
- Educate on diet according to disease state, medical condition, and health risk.
- Provide written documentation of all patient assessments and follow‑up consultations in the medical record.
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team.
- Attend continuing education at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, including population‑specific training (e.g., age, disability).
- Participate in in‑service training for department and hospital staff.
- Participate on department teams as assigned.
- Coordinate student rotations as assigned.
- Orient relief personnel and new staff to area of practice for consistent patient care.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Registered Dietitian.
- Licensed in the State of Illinois.
- Bachelor of Science degree in dietetics.
- Master’s degree in Nutrition or a related field if graduated after 2023 (CDR requirements).
- One year of clinical dietetics experience.
- Master’s degree in Nutrition or a related field if graduated prior to 2024.
