Overview
As a Supervisory Auditor under the general guidance of the Regional Inspector General for Auditing (RIGA), you will serve as an audit manager, providing expert technical advice and guidance in the performance and completion of audits for the Great Lakes Region Audit Office (JA-5).
Duties- The audit manager provides expert technical advice and guidance in the performance and completion of audits.
- As a Supervisory Auditor, you will perform the following duties: resolve issues when they exist, recognize superior performance, identify developmental and on-the-job training needs; lead audit teams in identifying and assessing audit risks and developing actions to address the risks; follow up on leads of fraud, waste, and abuse when identified.
- Coordinate, direct, and evaluate multiple audits and the progress of these projects, adjusting resources when necessary to ensure they meet established milestone dates.
- Ensure draft and final written audit products are clear, concise, technically correct, and effectively deliver the intended audit message, while conforming to all relevant policies.

Requirements Conditions of employment- Direct Deposit of salary check to a financial organization is required.

The GS-14 salary range starts at $140,604 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR AUDITORS

You must have either A or B:
- Option A:
Degree in accounting, auditing; or a degree including auditing courses in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting (up to 6 hours in business law allowed). - Option B:
Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of auditing-related experience and 24 semester hours in accounting or auditing courses, or equivalent credentials such as CPA or CIA.
GS-14 QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
In addition to the Basic Requirements for Auditors, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes directing teams conducting complex audits/inspections and developing strong recommendations.
This position has a positive education requirement: Applicants must submit copies of their college or university transcript(s) by the closing date to verify qualifications. If selected, an official transcript will be required prior to appointment.
