Position Overview

The Illinois Educational Labor Relations Board is seeking to hire an Executive Director. The Executive Director serves as a key executive leader responsible for the operational management, strategic planning, and regulatory enforcement of the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Act (IELRA). This position acts as a liaison between the agency Board, labor organizations, and educational employers to promote orderly labor relations. The role requires balancing statutory enforcement—including investigating unfair labor practices, conducting representation elections, and dispute resolution—with agency administration, including budget preparation, policy development, and full-line supervision of staff.
