Senior Tax Associate – Global Technology Company - Hybrid

A global, publicly traded technology company is looking to add an experienced Senior Tax Associate to their team. The company is highly profitable and widely recognized for their innovative products and services that cater specifically to emerging growth and middle market companies around the world. This newly created role reports directly to the VP Tax and will have exposure to all tax planning, strategy and reporting for the company, including provision and compliance activities for both direct and indirect taxes.

Location:

can be based in either Chicago (preferred) or NYC, 3 days in office

• Liaise with Big 4 tax team on all aspects of domestic and international tax compliance, including income tax, sales & use tax, VAT, and other indirect tax filings across multiple jurisdictions.
• Oversee the accurate and timely preparation of monthly and quarterly indirect tax returns in partnership with external advisors, ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory requirements.
• Manage data collection and reporting processes to support direct and indirect tax filings, quarterly tax provisions, transfer pricing analyses, and related financial statement disclosures.
• Review and reconcile tax-related general ledger accounts, investigate variances, and implement corrective actions to ensure reporting accuracy.
• Monitor changes in U.S. sales tax and international VAT legislation, proactively updating internal processes to maintain compliance and reduce risk.
• Support tax planning initiatives and operational restructuring projects by evaluating tax implications and identifying opportunities for efficiency.
• Advise cross-functional stakeholders on the tax impact of new products, services, and strategic business decisions, including U.S. sales tax and non-U.S. VAT considerations.

• 3+ years of corporate tax experience within a public accounting environment
• CPA or Master’s in Accounting/Tax preferred
• Proven ability to collaborate with outside tax firms and coordinate the flow of information, timelines, and deliverables.
• Comfortable operating in complex organizational structures that involve multiple jurisdictions
• Strong proficiency in Excel, major ERP systems and tax applications

Salary: $115,000 - $130,000 plus bonus and an exceptional benefits package
