Are you a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Accountant ready to take the next step in your career? Our client, a prominent manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join their finance team and play a key role in business growth and operational excellence.
About the RoleReporting directly to the Financial Controller, this position is integral to supporting and enhancing the company's financial operations. You will partner with business functions, deliver robust financial and cost control support, ensure compliance, and influence key decision-making across a complex and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage month-end, early close, and annual close-off, processing accruals and period-end journals
- Prepare monthly journal entries, reconcile bank statements, and maintain accurate accounting records
- Compile and analyse asset, liability, revenue, and expense data, update asset registers
- Conduct cost analysis and support initiatives to identify and reduce operational costs
- Oversee payroll tax reporting, BAS, FBT, and other compliance-related functions
- Drive improvements in financial systems and reporting tools
- Prepare detailed financial reports and monitor project budgets/forecasts
- Support internal and external audit projects and collaborate with key stakeholders
- Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external partners
- Provide ad-hoc support for special projects as required
- CPA/CA qualification (completed)
- 6+ years' experience as a Financial Accountant, ideally in manufacturing or a related complex industry
- Deep understanding of Australian accounting standards and tax regulations
- Advanced skills in accounting software and MS Excel
- Highly analytical mindset, commercial awareness, and an eye for detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
