Overview
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing inventory accounting, accounts payable functions, and treasury management ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP (or IFRS, as applicable), SOX requirements, and internal control. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, public company experience, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities Inventory Accounting- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory close processes.
- Review and analyze inventory valuation, reserves, obsolescence, and cost accounting.
- Reconcile perpetual inventory systems to the general ledger.
- Partner with operations and supply chain teams on cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Analyze inventory variances and provide detailed reporting to management.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and SOX documentation related to inventory processes.
- Supervise the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing and payments.
- Review vendor reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor accruals and ensure proper cutoff procedures.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and SOX requirements.
- Prepare daily cash management activities, including monitoring cash balances and forecasting short- and long-term liquidity needs.
- Prepare and analyze cash flow forecasts to ensure adequate funding for operations and strategic initiatives.
- Oversee intercompany funding, wire transfers, and banking transactions.
- Ensure proper internal controls over cash disbursements and treasury operations in compliance with SOX requirements.
- Support process improvements and automation initiatives within treasury operations.
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Support SEC reporting requirements (10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K filings).
- Assist with internal and external audit requests.
- Maintain and improve documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Support continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
- Manufacturing/Cost Accounting experience preferred
- CPA preferred
- Minimum of three to five years’ experience in accounting or auditing
- Solid understanding of GAAP and internal controls
- Advanced skills in Excel

Working Conditions:
Position may require periodic evening and weekend work, as necessary, to fulfill obligations. This is a hybrid position located in Chicago office and a minimum of three days per week in the office is required. On-site requirements may change at management’s discretion.
The level of the position will be determined based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $85,000 to $115,000. Final determination of base salary offered will depend on several factors relevant to the position, including but not limited to candidate skills, experience, education, market location, and business need. This role will include eligibility for bonus and equity. The total compensation package will also include additional elements such as multiple paid time off benefits, various health insurance options, retirement benefits and more.
