Overview
A leading middle-market advisory platform is seeking a Managing Director to join its Investment Banking team. This individual will play a critical role in originating and executing M&A transactions while driving strategic growth across the platform.
This is a senior leadership position suited to an entrepreneurial, commercially driven professional with a strong track record in transaction execution and business development.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and execute buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions
, including oversight of financial and commercial due diligence processes - Drive business development efforts
, cultivating relationships with corporates, private equity sponsors, and debt providers - Originate new mandates through an established network and targeted outreach strategies
- Analyze financial performance, including quality of earnings, working capital, and key transaction risks
- Provide strategic guidance to clients throughout the transaction lifecycle, including negotiation support
- Identify pre- and post-transaction value creation opportunities
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support go-to-market initiatives
- Lead deal teams across multiple engagements, ensuring timely and high-quality execution
- Mentor and develop junior bankers (VPs, Associates, Analysts)
- Serve as the primary client contact, managing relationships and deliverables throughout the deal lifecycle
- Oversee preparation and delivery of diligence reports and transaction materials
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in investment banking or corporate finance
- Proven experience within a middle-market or boutique advisory platform
- Demonstrated success in originating and executing transactions
- Experience managing and leading deal teams
- FINRA Series 7, 63 or 79 are required
- Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment
- Commercial mindset with a focus on revenue generation
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple concurrent transactions
