Job Summary

This individual will be responsible for leading investment activity across one or more target markets and serving as a key resource to the broader Investment Team. This individual will bring deep transaction experience—preferably in the industrial and logistics real estate sector—and the ability to strategically evaluate opportunities within the context of evolving market dynamics and Cabot's investment objectives. Acting as the primary Investment Officer for the Midwest region, this individual will manage the full lifecycle of investment execution, from sourcing and underwriting to closing and portfolio integration.

The role requires a highly resourceful, proactive team player who can thrive in a fast-paced environment while exercising sound judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to balance multiple priorities effectively.

Key Responsibilities Investment Execution & Strategy
  • Lead the sourcing, evaluation, and execution of investment opportunities on behalf of multiple Cabot investment vehicles (Value Add Funds, Core Funds, and Separate Accounts).
  • Develop and implement market-specific strategies in collaboration with the Managing Director, Investments and other senior leaders.
  • Manage complex and high-value transactions, including development opportunities, joint ventures, and portfolio acquisitions.
  • Potential involvement with Cabot LPs or other firm stakeholders related to market intelligence, property tours, or investment communication.
Market Intelligence & Relationships
  • Serve as an expert on the economic drivers, market trends, and competitive landscape in assigned investment markets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, developers, lenders, and other real estate professionals to enhance sourcing channels.
  • Outward facing individual who establishes trusted, ongoing relationships with Cabot business partners and investors.
Transaction Management
  • Oversee the full transaction lifecycle, including underwriting, structuring, negotiating legal documents, due diligence, and closing.
  • Prepare and present detailed investment memoranda and recommendations to investment committees.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders on financing, reporting, and valuation processes.
Team & Firm Contribution
  • Mentor junior team members, providing training and guidance to support their development.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Asset Management, Development, Portfolio Management, and Capital Markets teams to support execution and performance of investments.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Undergraduate degree with strong academic credentials required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of relevant real estate investment experience with demonstrated transaction success, preferably within industrial or logistics assets.
  • Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in Argus Enterprise and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with private equity funds and institutional investors preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
