SHIFT is a fast-growing, technology-driven marketing technology company supporting major national brands, manufacturers, and dealer networks. We are seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to lead core accounting operations and scale our financial infrastructure.
This is a high-impact role for a detail-oriented accounting professional who understands revenue complexity, operational workflows, and the importance of accurate, timely financial reporting. The position offers clear growth opportunities as we continue to expand.
This role goes beyond traditional bookkeeping and requires ownership, analytical thinking, and strong operational finance capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:Core Accounting & Financial Operations
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing accuracy
- Perform heavy invoice reconciliation and client revenue review
- Track revenue, collections, and margin performance across client programs
- Maintain accurate accruals, deferred revenue schedules, and prepaid expenses
- Ensure clean, audit-ready financial records and documentation
- Monthly, quarterly and year end close executions along with accompanying tax payments & support
- 5–10+ years of accounting experience in a fast-paced or operationally complex environment
- Expertise in accounting systems (Zoho Books a plus)
- Strong background in accrual accounting and full-cycle close
- Experience with revenue reconciliation, billing environments, or client-based accounting models
- Advanced Excel skills (reconciliations, financial analysis, data organization)
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation discipline
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently
- Clear communication skills with the ability to explain financial results to leadership
- Experience building or improving accounting processes in a growing company
- Experience working with external CPA firms is preferred
- Background in services, marketing, agency or technology is preferred
