We are seeking a strategic yet hands-on Controller to lead the accounting function. This role requires a leader who is equally comfortable operating at a high level with executive leadership and rolling up their sleeves to ensure accurate, timely financial execution.
This is a key leadership position responsible for driving financial integrity, operational discipline, and scalable processes to support long-term company growth.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Oversight
- Lead and develop the accounting team, including direct oversight of AP and AR functions
- Partner closely with the CFO and divisional leadership as a trusted financial advisor
- Build a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement
Financial Operations & Close
- Own and manage all month-end, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including reconciliations and general ledger integrity
- Ensure timely and accurate KPI reporting and financial visibility
- Maintain compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
- Lead variance analysis and provide actionable financial insights
- Develop and manage annual budgets and rolling forecasts
- Create accurate cash forecasts and oversee treasury management
- Support strategic growth initiatives with data-driven financial reporting
Controls & Process Improvement
- Establish, maintain, and strengthen internal financial controls
- Develop and refine accounting policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with established accounting standards and best practices
- Support potential M&A activity (experience preferred but not required)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior Controller experience within a comparable sized company or division (~$200MM revenue)
- CPA preferred
- Strong technical expertise in GAAP and financial accounting
- Demonstrated leadership of AP and AR functions
- Experience with large ERP systems such as Great Plains, MS Dynamics, or equivalent
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, IF statements; financial modeling a plus)
- Experience with cash forecasting and treasury management
- Proven ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a hands-on environment
