Director of Accounting

The Director of Accounting oversees all accounting, treasury, and financial reporting functions for a multi-entity real estate portfolio (15+ properties, 5 corporate entities, 30+ bank accounts). This role ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and strategic financial support to ownership and management.

• Lead month-end and year-end close across all entities
• Oversee bank reconciliations for 30+ accounts
• Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements and cash flow analysis
• Record acquisitions, dispositions, refinancings, and complex transactions
• Maintain the general ledger and Chart of Accounts

• Oversee invoice processing, payments (checks, ACH, wires), and deposits
• Monitor cash activity and open receivables/payables
• Manage banking relationships and real estate tax payments
• Process quarterly owner distributions

• Calculate and invoice management fees and intercompany reimbursements
• Oversee CAM reconciliations and tenant reimbursements
• Monitor rent collections and past-due reporting
• Lead annual budgeting process

• Coordinate 1099 reporting, FinCEN filings, and tax accountant requests
• Ensure GAAP compliance and strong internal controls
• Oversee Yardi and App Folio administration and system improvements

• Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
• 8+ years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, property accounting, and multi-entity reporting
• Advanced proficiency in Yardi and/or App Folio
