Position OverviewWe are seeking a Controller to own the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting functions of the company. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing the close process, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring compliance with accounting and tax requirements. This is a hands‑on individual contributor role ideal for someone who enjoys building processes in a fast‑growing company and partnering closely with leadership.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Close
- Own the monthly and quarter‑end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
- Maintain general ledger accuracy, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
- Ensure proper documentation and internal controls are maintained as the company scales
- Prepare monthly financial reporting packages, including variance analysis versus budget and forecast
- Develop and maintain cost center reporting to provide visibility into spend and performance
Tax, Compliance & Audit Support
- Coordinate income tax and other compliance filings with external providers
- Assist in preparing the company to be audit‑ready and support external auditors as needed
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting and regulatory requirements (domestic & international)
Systems & Process Improvement
- Manage and optimize Quick Books Online and related accounting tools
- Improve accounting processes and workflows to support company growth
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles
- Strong understanding of US GAAP
- Hands‑on experience with Quick Books Online
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced startup environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to partner with non-finance stakeholders
- CPA or CPA‑track (not required)
- Exposure to basic FP&A, budgeting, or forecasting
- Interest in healthcare, medical devices, or technology environments
